Every year thousands of young adults travel to Tahoe City through a work and travel program. These young adults, mostly university students, are commonly referred to as J1 employees. This experience is often life changing and challenging as these students transition to Tahoe.
First Baptist Church of Tahoe City seeks to assist local employers and their J1 employees with this transition. We coordinate with area ski resorts and local businesses to provide J1 employees with airport transportation, social security office visits, and Reno shopping trips. In our effort to help these students find a place to belong while in Tahoe, we also host community dinners, bible studies, and a place to worship.
To find out how you can get involved or support this ministry please contact Bethany Hansen, Resort Minister, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 864-360-7493. If you are a J1 student and looking to connect with others or need while you are in Tahoe you can also contact Bethany using WhatsApp.
